The date and countdown calculators on Days Until Calc are provided for general informational purposes. They are free tools designed to give you a fast, useful estimate.

These calculators are not legal tools. They are not financial instruments. They are not certified or approved by any government agency, court, or professional licensing body.

For any date calculation that affects a legal filing deadline, contract term, court order, tax deadline, statute of limitations, or financial obligation, verify the result independently. Use a licensed attorney, accountant, tax preparer, or the relevant government agency as your authoritative source.

Accuracy Limitations

We design these calculators to be accurate. We test them for leap years, Gregorian calendar rules, and correct US federal holiday dates. But we cannot guarantee accuracy for every possible use case.

• Federal holidays. The Business Days Calculator skips the 11 standard US federal holidays: New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Your employer, state government, or industry may observe additional or different holidays (such as Good Friday, Patriots Day, or state-specific holidays). Always check the specific calendar that applies to your situation.
• Floating holidays. Easter, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Super Bowl Sunday, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Labor Day, and Memorial Day are calculated using standard US formulas. These dates match the official US calendar for the current year. Religious observances of Easter may differ between Western Christian (Gregorian) and Eastern Orthodox (Julian) calendars. We use the Gregorian Western date for Easter.
• Time zones. Live countdown timers use your device's local clock. If you and another party are in different time zones, a midnight deadline may occur at different times for each of you. For international deadlines, verify the time zone of the deadline source.
• Leap years. Our calculators account for leap years using the standard Gregorian rule: a year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except years divisible by 100, which must also be divisible by 400. The year 2024 was a leap year. The next leap year is 2028. The year 2100 will not be a leap year (divisible by 100 but not by 400).
• Historical dates. The Day of Week Calculator uses Gregorian calendar logic for all dates. Dates before October 15, 1582 (when the Gregorian calendar was introduced) used the Julian calendar in most of Europe. Our calculator returns the Gregorian day of week even for those dates, which may not match historical records from that period.

Holiday Observance Disclaimer

Religious holidays such as Easter, Christmas, and Cinco de Mayo may be observed on different dates by different traditions. We use the most common US observance dates. For religious observances tied to specific denominations, consult your church or community.

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more widely in the United States than in Mexico itself. It is not Mexico's Independence Day (which is September 16). We note this on the Cinco de Mayo page.
